Sterling Insurance Group today announces the opening of a new branch in Birmingham.
Sterling Insurance opened its first regional office in Manchester in January 2012 and the news of this second regional operation follows closely on from the appointment of Simon Hodgin as Northern Regions Manager and Gerard Hamilton as Regional Development Manager, Scotland.
David Sweeney, Head of Personal and Commercial Insurance at Sterling Insurance, said: “We have made a commitment to our brokers to growing our regional presence and the opening of this new branch is clear demonstration that we keep our promises. The Birmingham insurance market is hugely important to us. While Sterling has been building its brand and reputation throughout the Midlands over recent years, establishing a presence on the ground will enable us to get even closer to brokers across the region.”
Kirk Peattie has been appointed branch manager responsible for the management of the local team and developing the book of business and broker relationships. Kirk has over 20 years’ experience in the industry having held development positions with Towergate and Ecclesiastical before joining Sterling in 2011.
He commented: “Sterling Insurance is renowned for its commitment to brokers and I am really looking forward to building its presence not just in the Midlands but into Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and South Wales as a Birmingham city location acts as an excellent stepping stone. We’re looking forward to supporting brokers across these areas with our local underwriting expertise and knowledge. At a time when other insurers are going through restructures and realignment of territories, we are determined to give our brokers an even stronger service proposition and consistent trading approach.”
The branch is based in the central financial sector within easy access of Sterling’s regionally based brokers.
